In August the Marriner family had the opportunity to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe. We visited London, Paris, Normandy, and Brussels. I thought I’d post a few pictures each week to share our adventures in Europe. First up we have highlights from our first few days in London.
Our fabulous flatWe rented a huge flat in Wapping for our stay in London. I didn't want to leave!
The menfolk in front of a telephone boothBecause how can you visit London and not get this shot?
The TubeBy the time we left London, we were experts on navigating the Underground and Overground systems!
BewareI got neither kicked nor bitten, thankfully.
Tower BridgeFirst misconception that was cleared up for us was that Tower Bridge and London Bridge are NOT the same thing. Not sure why I always thought they were??
Tower of LondonSuch a cool place.
Bus rideOn our first day we did a double-decker bus tour of the city to get a lay of the land.
Guard dutyWe did a Changing of the Guard tour that started here, where the Buckingham Palace guards begin their day. They then walk down to the Palace for the actual guard changing.
Westminster AbbeyQuite simply one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen.
Inside the AbbeyShhhh! You're not supposed to take pictures inside Westminster Abbey, but I couldn't help myself. I had to take just one. It's so beautiful.
