Oh, Miss Vita is here! Her mom’s maternity session caused quite a stir, with people trying to find clues in the pictures about whether she would be a boy or a girl.

Well, now we know that she’s a beautiful baby girl! And she’s got such a sweet disposition. I didn’t hear her cry the whole time I was there! She was also WIDE AWAKE. I didn’t think I would be able to get any sleepy baby shots. She’s actually awake in this first picture, I just happened to catch her mid-blink. Love the watermelon bowl that mom & dad had. I think I might have to keep my eye out for one like it to add to my prop collection.

Yeah, very awake! And doesn’t she have the sweetest little face??

Why do babies want to stay awake when I come to take pictures? Because they know that if they fall asleep we’ll do things like this! LOL

Once she was all settled down and sleeping, I was able to get a good shot of the cute swirls in her sweet little head of hair.

And look at those perfect little piggies! You all know I have a soft spot for baby feet!

Thanks for being such a good girl, Vita! I’ll see you in a few months. Be good to your mom and dad, and let them get a little sleep now and then!

Remember Darby?

Well, not only has she grown a bunch since the last time I saw her, she’s also now a big sister! This is her new brother Connor. Isn’t he handsome?

He loves his mommy.

And she loves him, too.

He’s here! Everyone at the boys’ school has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this little guy. And he’s just the sweetest thing! So perfect and wonderful and oh, you just want to snuggle with him all day long.

He’s also very opinionated. “No, I don’t want to be nude. I don’t want to wear just a diaper. I want to be clothed. I want to cuddle with my mom and dad. I want to sleep without you messing with me. And those cute props you brought? Forget it. No baskets, no blankets, and certainly no teacups. I have my standards, you know.”

So the props were set aside, and we let Joey just be Joey. And oh, what a sweet little Joey he is…

While I’m editing images from a portrait session, I almost always come up with some additional pics to share after the sneak peek is done. This weekend’s pictures with Ryan and Nathan reminded me of some other silly little boys (besides my own).

Last month at Carmen’s newborn session, while she was all sleepy in my teacup…

…this is what was going on around us.

I don’t think I had laughed that hard in a long time! My own boys may drive me crazy at times, but there’s nothing like a pair of silly brothers to make you smile!

Oh, Jaxson. I have been waiting for his arrival for months. You may remember his sisters and brother from last summer. At the end of the session, their mom let me in on the big secret – number four was on the way. I squealed in delight and immediately started planning for this newborn session. And it was worth the wait! Not only is he adorable, he was a good baby for me and slept almost the whole time.

Oh, and he makes the most insanely cute faces!

Completely sacked out in my teacup.

New hats! I’ve found an extremely talented woman who has been knitting me all kinds of sweet new hats for newborns. I’ll be getting some in bigger sizes as well, so stay tuned for those.

I am so far behind on sneak peeks! My apologies to all of the families who have been waiting so patiently. This cold has been kicing my butt!

This is little Miss Carmen. She was twelve days old when these were taken, and she was already quite the little diva. She wasn’t very interested in sleeping; there’s no time to sleep when you have a house to rule!

This is how she preferred to operate – relaxed, laid-back, but always with one eye on the crazy camera lady.

One of those rare moments when she did nod off. I love the little nose, the sweet little mouth, and especially the baby fuzz on her back.

Oh, and my obsession with feet is showing again. I just love those little piggies!

To celebrate the end of 2009, I have chosen some of my favorite images from this year. I’ll start with the newborns, those sweet little bundles with their soft skin and their funny faces. They are a joy to photograph, and I love to watch them grow throughout the year. I would like to thank all of the moms & dads who have entrusted me with their little ones’ first pictures.

Well, I think I’ve left Quinn’s family waiting long enough! I’m so sorry that this sneak peek has been delayed so long. But let me tell you folks, you do NOT want to get the flu bug that is going around – even sitting at the computer wears you out! I’ve heard that little Quinn has been sick, too. So sick that she ended up in the hospital! She’s better now, and home with her family where she belongs. I’m hoping she continues to stay healthy, and that nobody else in her house gets sick.

And now, on to the pictures! Isn’t Quinn a sweetie?

This is her big brother Duncan. I can’t believe how much he has grown since I took his pictures last year!

Here’s Mom all snuggled up with her babies. You can tell that Duncan loves his little sister already.
