Sweet Olivia | Manlius Family Photographer

OMG could this child get any cuter? I had so much fun playing with her and her parents this weekend. And take a look at this first picture, of Olivia and her daddy. It was literally like the fourth frame I shot, and I instantly knew it was going to be my favorite. I was thinking, “OK, I can go now, I already have the best shot!”

And look at her being all posed for the camera! She wasn’t too fond of my peacock tutu, but we did manage to get some good pics.

And – miracle of miracles – it actually stopped raining long enough for us to go outside for a few minutes! Olivia likes to ride her tractor.

Olivia, thanks for playing with me! Hope I get to see you and your mom and dad again soon!
A Beautiful Family | CNY Family Portraits

I loved these kids! So cute, so funny, and such incredible eyes! We met up at Mexico Point on a windy, windy day last week. Let me introduce you to these cuties…
First up is Landry, the oldest at 10 1/2 years old. He seems like the mature, responsible older brother. Then there is Griffin, who just turned 9. Of course I love his name, and he has a mischievous side that reminds me of a certain other Griffin in my life. ![]()

And now we have Madyn, who is a complete diva at the age of 6. She knows how to work a camera like a professional! And her mom made her pretty dress. (Check out her Etsy shop for more cute things.)

And finally we have Gable, the baby of the family. He’s three years old, and he’s quite a character! I don’t think I’ve laughed that much in a while!

Backyard Fun | CNY Family Portraits

I love these kids! I had so much fun playing with them in their backyard last week. And by the way, everyone should keep in mind that you don’t have to search for some fabulous location for your family pictures. Sometimes your own backyard is the best place! It doesn’t have to be fancy, it just has to be YOU!
And now back to these cute kids. First up is Owen, who is three and is a fabulous big brother. He loves tractors and trucks and playing in his sandbox. And I love his sandy hands!

Then we have the twins, Carter and Caitlyn, who just turned 10 months old the day of our shoot. I have my clients fill out an information form before their session, just so I can get an idea of the personalities of the kids. The twins’ mom could not have described her little ones more perfectly. She said that Carter “has a great smile and is a very strong boy!” Take a look at that grin! Could he get any cuter? And of Caitlyn she said, “she’s sweet & beautiful!!” Yup, that about sums it up!
Kids, I hope you had as much fun playing with me as I had playing with you. I can’t wait to see you again. And Mom & Dad, thanks for waiting so patiently for your sneak peek!

Cuties in the Sunflowers | CNY Family Photographer

One last session in the sunflowers! The flowers are still going strong, but if you look closely you can see that the weeds are, too. We had to do a little bit of weeding before we got started with the pictures.
It’s been six months since I last saw these cuties (Carmen is one of my Baby’s First Year graduates), and they are still some of my favorite kids!

In the Sunflowers | Camillus Family Photographer

The session that almost wasn’t! If you follow me on Facebook, you know the saga surrounding the Camillus Sunflower Maze this year. After doing mini sessions at the maze last summer, I had several clients ask if I would be doing them again this year. Of course I was, and I was very excited about it! Then the month of July dragged on with no information about when and where the maze would be this year. After a couple of calls to the Town of Camillus, I finally was told that there would be no maze this year! NO! Apparently there were some bad growing conditions this year, and the flowers were just not numerous enough to make the maze.
But never fear! I knew I wouldn’t stop searching until I found some sunflowers! And I did find them. Exactly where the maze would have been, if there was one. The flowers were a little on the short side this year, but there were plenty of them for pictures. So I contacted the clients who had been interested, including Darby and Connor’s family. Then came the next part of our challenge – the weather! The forecast was not all that great, but I was going to be going out of town over the weekend and we wanted to try and get them done. So I headed out last Wednesday afternoon, hoping that the rain in Fulton would disappear by the time I got to Camillus. It didn’t. It only got worse. I thought for sure that we were going to have to reschedule. But Mother Nature was just playing with me. I drove up the road to the sunflower patch in an absolute downpour, but as soon as I parked my car in the parking lot the rain stopped. And the sun came out! It was unbelievable!
So we did get some pictures in the sunflowers, but of course as kids, Darby and Connor were much more interested in the big puddles left by all the rain. So we had fun splashing in them!

I will be out in the sunflower patch again this Friday afternoon, so if you would like to schedule a mini sunflower session, just contact me!
