My Favorites of 2009 | Loved Ones
Posted on December 31, 2009
Families. I love ‘em. Big families, small families, new families, expectant families. The are all different, yet they are all the same – full of fun, laughter, and love.
Here are my favorite family pics of 2009…

Family Time
Posted on November 16, 2009
What a gorgeous weekend it was! We couldn’t have asked for a nicer mid-November day for this session. You may recognize at least one member of this family – I’ve photographed her a few (hundred) times before. But this time it was the whole family.
Can I just tell you how much I love this stone wall? I need one at my house.

Big sis.

Little bro.

You don’t even want to know how this shot ended. One pushes back too hard, then the other retaliates… If you have more than one kid then you’ll understand. ![]()

Possibly my favorite shot of the day. Love, love, love the casual feel to it.

Cousins
Posted on November 9, 2009
Yesterday I got to hang out with these six cousins. You may recognize Olivia from Taylor’s senior update shoot last month (and you’ll be seeing more of her for her senior pics next year!), and Caroline is the girl with the lilacs – one of my favorite pics of all time. Andrew has somehow managed to avoid my camera until now. Joining them were their cousins Matt, Nick, and Zach. We were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous autumn day. I wish this weather would last for months! Here are a few of my favorites from the day…
Trying to get Caroline to smile…

These guys were a little more challenging. Getting Matt to smile was nearly impossible. But I got one!

The whole crew.

Piggy-back ride back to the car. ![]()

An out-take from my favorite shot of the day. I’ve been told that when they all were little kids, they had their picture taken on this slide, all lined up. We attempted to recreate that picture, but without breaking the slide! The slide survived, and you can see how much fun we had trying to get the shot.

Beautiful names, beautiful kids
Posted on November 5, 2009
This is Saoirse (SEER-sha). Is that not one of the most beautiful names you have ever heard? And she has a beautiful smile to go along with it.

She has a big brother named Ronan. Also a fabulous name! If we ever have another son, his name will be Ronan. I’ve just decided that. Ronan Marriner sounds awesome. Not that I’ll ever have another baby, but just in case.
Ronan was not my biggest fan. He wanted no part of me taking pictures, or even being there. This is him trying to shut the door on me so that I couldn’t get in. ![]()

But eventually he warmed up to me. All it took was a dip into the Halloween candy bucket and reading a couple of books.

He may not like me too much, but Ronan loves his little sister. Everybody say “Awwwwwwww…..”

Tractors and trucks and bugs, oh my!

Yep, yesterday’s portrait session was all about being BOYS. I loved them – they reminded me a lot of my own little guys.
And what do boys do? They climb trees, of course!

This is Ryley. A little bit shy, but with a great smile.

This is his little brother Landan. He’s a little spitfire, who made me work for every shot. ![]()

We had a great time walking through the last of the autumn leaves.

Landan plants a smooch on his mom…

…while Riley enjoys hanging around.

Look what we found!

Why walk when you can ride??

And oh boy – Grandpa’s tractor! (Griffin’s eyes about bugged out of his head when he saw this picture. He was insanely jealous!)

One of my favorites of the day…

Darby
Posted on October 25, 2009
This was my second visit with Darby and her family. She has grown a bunch since the last time I was there! I loved her little piano, her old horsie, and her two dogs, who both should be nominated for sainthood for being so patient with Darby! ![]()

Kids I Love – An Overdue Sneak Peek
Posted on October 25, 2009
Thanks to the swine flu I am running waaaaaay behind on things. Normally I like to add some details to my sneak peek posts, but today I’m just going to put up these pictures from one of last week’s sessions. I will say that I love these kids! They keep growing up on me, and they are so much fun!

Little Miss Q
Posted on October 19, 2009
Well, I think I’ve left Quinn’s family waiting long enough! I’m so sorry that this sneak peek has been delayed so long. But let me tell you folks, you do NOT want to get the flu bug that is going around – even sitting at the computer wears you out! I’ve heard that little Quinn has been sick, too. So sick that she ended up in the hospital! She’s better now, and home with her family where she belongs. I’m hoping she continues to stay healthy, and that nobody else in her house gets sick.
And now, on to the pictures! Isn’t Quinn a sweetie?

This is her big brother Duncan. I can’t believe how much he has grown since I took his pictures last year!

Here’s Mom all snuggled up with her babies. You can tell that Duncan loves his little sister already.

M. family, I hope you guys like your sneak peek, and I’m sorry again for the delay!
Sisters!
Posted on October 8, 2009
I love these little girls. You may remember them from the kissing sisters picture last year (it’s still one of my all-time favorites). I got to hang out with them again this afternoon, and it was a perfect autumn day!
These two girls are so much like my boys. Olivia is the younger, more opinionated sibling. And she’s also a total sweetie-pie.

Abigail is the older sister and is the more laid-back of the two. She’s also a total model-in-training. She was working the camera like you wouldn’t believe!

I brought my collection of tutus, pettiskirts, and hats and the girls had fun playing dress-up. Well, Abigail had fun. Olivia was really not a big fan of the tutus.

I told you it was a perfect autumn day!

Hey girls (and Mom and Dad), thanks for playing with me today. I can’t wait to see you again!
Introducing Myles
Posted on July 24, 2009
This is Myles. He’s the one we were waiting for a couple of weeks ago. And now he’s here! He’s seven days old today, and he’s such a sweetie.

He has the cutest little mouth.

And he makes the funniest faces!

Best of all, he let us put him in my teacup! He wasn’t particularly thrilled with the situation, but he let us do it.

I don’t think this baby is loved at all.
Doesn’t Mathew just look like the proudest big brother ever?

And one of my favorite shots of the day – everyone’s feet! It looks like Myles is trying to tickle Makayla. ![]()

And here he is in his favorite place – snuggling up to Mom.
