Silly Emily | CNY Child and Family Photography
Posted on September 20, 2011
This session has to take the prize for most weather-related reschedules. Mother Nature was definitely not willing to cooperate with us! We started this back in April as a First Communion shoot. At that time we decided to just do a few pics of Emily in her dress, with the intention of doing more at a later time, once the weather warmed up a bit.
Oh, it got warmer! Remember that awful heat wave this summer? Well, it was the first time I ever had to reschedule a session due to excessive heat!
But last week we finally managed to find a time when we could get together and finish up the session. Unfortunately it was a bit cool and at LOT windy at Breitbeck Park, but we still had fun. Of course, it started raining five minutes after we were done with the session.
So here’s a little peek at the “Persistence Pays Off” session. LOL
And can I tell you how much I love this first picture? It’s so Emily. ![]()

Four Seasons With Gen: Spring | CNY Photographer

We did it! The big Four Seasons project is complete! Gen had her fourth and final portrait session this past weekend at Sonnenberg Gardens in Canandaigua. I had never been there before, but I will certainly be back! It was soooo beautiful, with so many lovely gardens. I can’t wait to go back next month when the roses are all in bloom!
If you’re interested in seeing pics from our earlier sessions, check them out here:

Winter
Now check out all of the fun we had this time! Floppy hats, bubbles, and general silliness ruled the day. I’m sad that our Four Seasons project is over, but somehow I don’t think this will be the last you see of Gen on this blog. ![]()

And if anyone is interested in having their own Four Seasons adventure, it’s now a special portrait collection that I’ve started offering this year! Just give me a call or shoot me an email and I’ll give you all of the details!
Emily’s First Communion | CNY Child Photographer

I’m back!! My winter hiatus is over, spring is finally here, the sun is shining, and I’ve had my first portrait session of the new season. Woo-hoo!
This morning I got to see a high school classmate of mine. I haven’t seen her since, ummmm… high school??
She now has a beeeeyoooteeeful daughter, Emily, who will be making her First Communion later this month. Loved her pretty dress, gorgeous hair, and killer brown eyes! And the best part is that we’re going to be doing more pictures later in the season, once it gets warmer. Can’t wait to see both of them again!

Another fun day with Genesis! This was the third session in our Four Seasons adventure (and this portrait collection is now available to all of my clients for 2011!). In case you missed them, we’ve also done a summer session and an autumn one.
This time we went back to Beaver Lake and played in the snow. It was a perfect day to be there – not too sunny, not too cold, and with a fresh blanket of that white stuff we have so much of these days. I misjudged the depth of the snow a couple of times and ended up thigh-deep in a snowbank, but it was still fun!
As you can see, Gen is still Gen: silly, beautiful, goofy, crazy, and…well, I always have a good time when we get together. She calls me her second mom, and she’s like the daughter I never had. Will that make it awkward if she and Grant ever really start dating??
So here you go, Gen. Your sneak peek is up. I hope you like them!

Favorites of 2010 | Kids

I had the opportunity to work with kids of all ages this year, from preschool right up through high school. I got to talk to them about their interests – from horses to music to…just being goofy!
Thank you for all the fun times!
