My Favorites of 2009 | Bigger Ones

Posted on December 29, 2009

School-aged kids, full of energy. I love it when they are comfortable enough with me to tell me all about their BFFs, their sports, and what they want to be when they grow up. And they are certainly growing up fast. Here are my favorite big kid pics of 2009.

Kids I Love – An Overdue Sneak Peek

Posted on October 25, 2009

Thanks to the swine flu I am running waaaaaay behind on things. Normally I like to add some details to my sneak peek posts, but today I’m just going to put up these pictures from one of last week’s sessions. I will say that I love these kids! They keep growing up on me, and they are so much fun!

Sisters!

Posted on October 8, 2009

I love these little girls. You may remember them from the kissing sisters picture last year (it’s still one of my all-time favorites). I got to hang out with them again this afternoon, and it was a perfect autumn day!

These two girls are so much like my boys. Olivia is the younger, more opinionated sibling. And she’s also a total sweetie-pie.

Abigail is the older sister and is the more laid-back of the two. She’s also a total model-in-training. She was working the camera like you wouldn’t believe!

I brought my collection of tutus, pettiskirts, and hats and the girls had fun playing dress-up. Well, Abigail had fun. Olivia was really not a big fan of the tutus.

She did like my hats, though.

I told you it was a perfect autumn day!

Hey girls (and Mom and Dad), thanks for playing with me today. I can’t wait to see you again!

Sweet Sixteen

Posted on August 22, 2009

This is Taylor. She is a cousin of my boys, and I have been photographing her since she was a newborn. I can’t tell you how many pictures I have of her on my hard drive (and in shoeboxes from the pre-digital years).

Somehow, Taylor turned 16 this week. When did that happen? HOW did that happen? I certainly can’t be that old! But I guess I am, because here she is, a lovely young woman. She gets more grown up and more beautiful every time I get my camera on her. How the time flies…

Here she is with her dog, Goliath…

Waiting for Myles

Posted on July 11, 2009

These three monkeys up in a tree (also known as Mallori, Mathew, and Makayla) are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their new baby brother. Baby Myles should be here really soon – his due date is today! So yesterday we did some quick family and belly shots to mark the occasion.

The girls are very excited and love the little guy already.

And Mathew will be happy to have another boy in the house.

Such beautiful sisters!

Mom and the kids.

Just before I left, Mallori grabbed a face paint crayon and gave Mom’s belly a happy face. It was too cute!

OK Myles, we got your Mom’s belly pics done, now you can come join us! Don’t cause too much trouble on the way out, and I’ll see you at your newborn session!

Madeline and Ben

Posted on July 9, 2009

Cute kid alert!!

This morning I got to spend some time with these sweeties. Madeline (love that name!), and her brother Ben. Aren’t they adorable together?

Maddie was shy for about 10 seconds, and then she was totally comfortable in front of the camera.

I love the way her eyes and nose crinkle up when she smiles!

Then there’s Ben. “I am not going to give you any smiles today.”

“This is as close as you’re going to get, lady.”

“OK, maybe just this one…”

Julia, Kaley & Braden

Posted on June 6, 2009

Meet Kaley and Julia. I got to hang out with them this morning. And with their brother too. But we’ll get to him in a minute. First, the girls.

Don’t they look so sweet together?

Julia is nine, and is such a sweetheart. She loves the camera. A lot. :)

And she’s such a good big sister, always looking out for the younger ones.

Then there’s Kaley, who is six. She was in Griffin’s preschool class at the Y.

And, like Griffin, she’s a total goofball.

Now, we get to Braden. Oh, Braden. I have been dying to get my camera on him since he was born. Oh, I snapped a pic or two at preschool functions, but I’m so glad I finally got a chance to really photograph him. Because… those eyes.

I mean, don’t you just want to fall right into those big baby blues? ::sigh::

And we even got him to smile! It took some doing, but he finally gave me a couple. He just made sure I worked for them first.

This next one was actually taken at the beginning of the session, as we tried to get them away from the lure of the playground. They just grabbed hands and walked. Mom and I gave a couple of big “Awwwwww!”s and I snapped away. Such nice kids. I even got hugs before we left! :)

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek. Thanks for playing with me today. I had a great time!

Silly and Sillier

Posted on May 16, 2009

Meet Raiden and Nicole. They are two of the goofiest, silliest, funniest kids I have ever met. This is the second time I have worked with them, and I laughed even more this time than I did last time. Raiden made his First Communion last week, so the main purpose of this session was to get some pictures of him in his very cool white tux.

And then we took some of his lovely sister Nicole, in her very pretty dress (love the dots!).

Can I tell you how much I love her freckles? I’ve always hated mine, but I love them on other people.

Then they changed out of the fancy clothes, and a serious case of the sillies broke out…

Thanks for all of the laughs you guys!
