A Bee’s-Eye View | Part 10: Orange

It was Pinewood Derby week here in the Marriner household, and with it came some pretty high expectations. After all, the Marriner boys have a little dynasty going in Fulton’s Pack 715. Griffin took first place last year, and Grant won the year before that. The big race was yesterday, and Griffin’s car did very well. We won’t know the final results until the next pack meeting in a couple of weeks, but I predict that Griffin’s “Syracuse Orange #44″ car will be placing among the top three.

There aren’t many things that I like about winter. Really, I hate this season with a fiery passion. But one thing I do like are the “blue sunsets.” I don’t know what weird phenomenon causes them, but every once in a while on a cold winter’s day, when the sun goes down the whole sky gets to be this really intense shade of blue. And it’s beautiful.

Of course my Valentine’s Day theme would be “Love” – what else could it be?
This is Carmen and her mama, taken at one of my two newborn sessions today. In my opinion, there’s nothing more loveable than a sweet, squishy newborn.

This week’s photo is also a mini sneak peek for Peyton’s family (there will be more in the next few days). I got to do her sixth-month portraits today, and she has grown so much! She’s also a bit on the stubborn side, and wouldn’t give me any good smiles. But some of my favorite pictures of the day were taken while we were taking a break, while Peyton was just snuggled up on the couch with her mom. Such love!
