It’s been a brutally hot July, and the Marriner family lacks central air. But we have a couple of window units which have been running overtime. I’m thankful for them, but I dread seeing the electric bill next month!

This is the line that is supposed to go across the pool to mark the shallow end from the deep end. We never use it, but it looks nice hanging up on our pool house.

In Cub Scouts, the boys earn belt loops for various areas of study, much like the merit badges that the Boy Scouts earn. Griffin has been hard at work on earning as many belt loops as he can. Or at least as many as his brother earned as a Cub Scout. Plus one.

I bought several of these citronella candles to keep the mosquitoes at bay on our pool deck.
They don’t work, and I have a couple dozen bites to prove it.
