Kayla – NR-W Class of 2011 Senior Rep | CNY Senior Photographer

This morning I had a fabulous time with Kayla, my newest Class of 2011 Senior Representative. She is beautiful and fun and up for just about anything, including sitting down in the middle of a creek.
If you are a member of the Class of 2011 at North Rose-Wolcott High School, be sure to see Kayla in the next couple of weeks for a great offer on your senior pictures.
I loved the light in this spot. It was just a little patch of grass right beside the creek, but the morning light was just amazing.

I’m one of those people who hates their own freckles, but loves them on everyone else. And I love them even more in black & white.

Here’s Kayla in the little creek. At this point I was safe on dry land, but that would soon change…

At the end of the creek was this beautiful waterfall.

Of course Kayla had no trouble climbing right up there. (Good thing I didn’t try it. That would have been good for a laugh!) Love the texture of the waterfall in the background.

This spot in the creek is right next to that patch of grass I mentioned earlier. Totally magical, it just sent a spotlight down on Kayla. And yes, I was in the water at this point. It was rapidly getting very hot outside, so it actually felt really good!

And here she is, last shot of the day. She didn’t even hesitate when I asked her if she would sit down in the creek. Love her, and can’t wait to do her full senior session in a few months!

Memorial Day 2010

“Although no sculptured marble should rise to their memory, nor engraved stone bear record of their deeds, yet will their remembrance be as lasting as the land they honored.” ~Daniel Webster
On this Memorial Day, please take a moment to remember who have given their lives so that we may live in freedom. I will be remembering my grandfather, Harry Powers. He survived the hell that was World War II. When it was over he came home and raised a family and lived long enough to see his great-grandchildren. He was an amazing man, and very special to me. I miss him greatly.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.” — General George S. Patton

I’ve been taking pictures of her since she was a baby. And now she’s going to be a high school senior. Needless to say, I’m feeling a bit old today.
Here’s a quick peek at Taylor’s mini session from yesterday. More to come soon!

I had such a good time with this family yesterday. Just this one pic for now, because my kids are little germ factories and have shared yet another bug with me. My goal is to get caught up on emails today. Hoping to have more from this session up soon!
