A Bee’s-Eye View | Part 18: Contentment

Posted on April 25, 2010

I’ve been horrible about keeping up with these Bee’s-Eye View posts. Someday I will go back and upload the pics I’ve taken over the past few weeks. But I wanted to be sure to get this one done. It’s Otto, our new puppy, the picture of contentment. :)

Meet Otto

Posted on April 24, 2010

There’s big news in the Marriner household this week – we have a puppy! This newest member of our family is named Otto. He is almost nine weeks old, and he is just the sweetest little thing!

Doesn’t he have the cutest face you’ve ever seen?

And this is Lady. She is Otto’s sister, and she was adopted by our next-door neighbor on the same day that we got Otto. I’m so glad they get to grow up together!

We’ve been bringing the dogs out to our back yards to have “play dates” together. Here’s Otto trying to give Grant a kiss.

And both of them try to knock him down.

Hello, handsome. :)

Kayla was recording the puppies playing together. Here the Three Musketeers check out the video.

Siblings at play…

Oh, I’m going to have such a hard time resisting this little face.

That’s all for now, though I’m sure there will be plenty of Otto pics in the future!!

Taylor Rocks the Frock | Syracuse Photographer

Posted on April 23, 2010

If you are a follower of this blog, or if you are on my newsletter mailing list (and really, why aren’t you???) then you saw me mention a new kind of portrait session that I am now offering – the Rock the Frock session. This is a fun session meant to give new life to that old prom dress that is hanging in the back of your closet. We get you all dressed up, and then take you out for a portrait session in a place that you wouldn’t normally go while all dressed up. Playground, beach, farm, you name it!

Taylor, my beautiful Class of 2010 senior rep, was the first one to try rocking the frock. And she did a fabulous job! We went out to Fair Haven, where she delighted all of the little girls on the playground. They all thought she was a princess. :)

And can I just say that Taylor has the most amazing dress ever??

I think this is my favorite shot of the day…

So if you would like to try out the Rock the Frock session, give me a call or email me and we’ll set one up!

Introducing Connor | Syracuse Newborn Photographer

Remember Darby?

Well, not only has she grown a bunch since the last time I saw her, she’s also now a big sister! This is her new brother Connor. Isn’t he handsome?

He loves his mommy.

And she loves him, too. :)

The SeniorBook | Syracuse Senior Photographer

Posted on April 14, 2010

OK, let’s start off with a disclaimer – I am NOT a product photographer! Man, I never realized how difficult it could be to get decent shots of something as simple as a book!

Anyway, I thought I would give you all a peek at one of the photo books I offer. This is the SeniorBook. It is a 20-page, 8×8 hardcover book with nice glossy pages. This book comes as a part of the Senior Style collection. A larger version (10×10) is part of the new Senior Class collection.

This book just came in today. Tomorrow it will be going home with Taylor, my beautiful, sweet, and just generally awesome GRB Class of ’10 Senior Rep. Maybe I should wait to post these pics till after she gets the book??

Nah.

My favorite part if these books? The cover. Pick any image you want and I’ll put it right on the front for everyone to see. You can also choose from various leathers and fabrics for your cover, but I think the image cover is much more fun.

A couple of different spreads. You can have several little pictures on each page, or one big one.

You can even add text. Song lyrics, quotations, poems, you name it!

Here Taylor chose one of my favorite poems – The Road Not Taken. (Yeah, totally not in focus, and I totally didn’t care at this point. :) )

Another nice thing about these books is the binding. You know how in a regular book you sometimes get that part of a picture that gets lost in the spine? No such problem here. The bindings on these books are designed to lay flat, so you don’t lose any part of your image in the middle.

A couple more pics of the outside. Yes, you can even get a picture on the back!

If you are high school senior (or will be next year) and are interested in getting a SeniorBook with your session, just email me or give me a call.

I may feature some additional products here in the future, if I ever get brave enough to try to photograph them again. Let me know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see!
