The New Photo Books
Posted on May 31, 2009
I’m always on the lookout for the best products for my clients. I want to give you beautiful ways to preserve your memories. One product that I have been offering for a while now are photo books. But I’ve been a little dissatisfied with the photo book vendor I had previously been using. One reason was that the 7″ x 7″ size just seemed a little too small, but the next size up – the 10″ x 10″ – came with a HUGE jump in price. Also, it was taking at least four weeks for them to print, bind & ship the books. Add that to the 2-3 weeks that it normally takes me to design a book, and you have just too long of a wait.
I am pleased to announce that I have found another company to print my books, and they are fabulous!! Their smaller book is 8″ x 8″, and though it doesn’t sound like much, that one inch increase makes a huge difference. Even better, the 10″ x 10″ book is no longer double the price! The books are specially bound so that the page spreads lay flat, and the pages are gloss-coated so they really shine and show off your images. And this company takes half the time to print, bind & ship, so you’ll have your gorgeous new book in only four weeks instead of six or seven.
Here’s a peek at one of the new books. Ian’s dad gets a “Sweetest Husband of the Year” award for secretly ordering this for his wife for Mother’s Day…
The cover – pick your favorite image to make an eye-catching cover that’s perfect for your coffee table.

One of the page spreads. See how the pages lay flat?

It’s because of this cool hinged binding.

Your pages can have just a single image, or multiple images, and I can add all sorts of fun backgrounds.

Even add text to your book! This is a French lullaby that Ian’s mom sings to him. My high school seniors like to add song lyrics, poems or favorite quotations to their books. Have another idea for your book? Just ask!

The bad news? All of this fabulousness is a little more expensive, so the photo books and all of the packages that include them have seen a small price increase. But it’s so worth it!!
Speaking of price increases, I’ve had to increase the price of my session albums as well. The vendor that I purchase the albums from as well as the one that does my prints both had pretty substantial price increases at the beginning of the year. I’ve tried to absorb the cost myself, but it’s gotten to be a bit much, so I’ve had to pass along the increase. Therefore the session album and the packages that include it have gone up a bit.
